Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab
Patients in these programs receive very individualized treatment plans. Our staff assesses the individual’s modifiable risk factors and then assists patients in reducing their risks.
The goal of risk reduction is to prevent or slow the process of worsening pulmonary or cardiac health conditions. Patients learn to exercise safely, while we monitor their heart rate & rhythm, blood pressure, oxygen, and overall tolerance to the activity. Patients generally get 36, one hour long sessions to engage in education, physical activity, and socialization.
The program involves collaboration with physicians, nurses, dieticians, & respiratory therapists, and physical therapists. Participation requires a physician referral. Medicare covers rehab for individuals who have had a heart attack, stent or coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), heart transplant, angina, or valve surgery. Private insurance coverage varies and is always cleared by our staff prior to enrolling a participant.
